Ryan Reynolds, star of Deadpool 2, welcomes Josh Brolin as Cable after the casting was announced earlier today. After months of rumors and reported frontrunners, Brolin has officially been cast in the highly coveted role for Deadpool 2. Brolin’s career is long and varied, but this marks his second Marvel Comics character, and he could be playing them both for some time. While Thanos is strictly a voice and mo-cap role for Brolin, the opportunity to land a leading role in another big comic book movie franchise and work with the talented group assembled must have been too big of an opportunity for him to pass up....

The Google-owned DeepMind AI program AlphaStar is now better at StarCraft 2 than a mind-blowing 99.8 percent of the game’s human players, making the artificial intelligence Grandmaster level and one of the best StarCraft 2 players in the entire world. DeepMind has famously supplanted the best players in other endeavors as its most sophisticated software, AlphaStar, increasingly becomes more complex and is improved by its creators. AlphaStar was previously tested against human StarCraft 2 players this past January, when DeepMind announced that the AI was able to beat professional StarCraft 2 players ten matches in a row during prerecorded sessions....

When DC Comics launched their Rebirth line, new status quos and creative teams were brought on board. While the Batman line didn’t really need fixing the way the Superman line did, the changes made have not only been great, they’d also added something to Batman that we didn’t even know we wanted: absolute balls to the wall insanity. Within its pages, Dr. Harleen Quinzel is having a new origin story told, explaining how she became the infamous Harley Quinn. But one change readers will notice has to do with the Joker–looking more like a heartthrob than a crazed criminal killer....

Hugh Jackman concludes seventeen years of playing Wolverine on the big screen (starting with Bryan Singer’s X-Men in 200o) with the theatrical release of next month’s buzzed-about X-Men film, Logan. That movie is far from the end for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men cinematic universe, of course. Currently, Fox has three mutant-based films in development, including Josh Boone’s New Mutants comic book adaptation, the next main X-Men film (aka. So it was, in the very first issue of the new series, that Jason Todd explained his own origin, from his days as a thief on the streets of Gotham right up to his death as Robin in DC’s famous “Death in the Family” storyline (where his details get hazy, since he was… dead)....

In a tearful and heartfelt moment on the Monday, November 18, episode of Dancing With the Stars, actor James Van Der Beek shared that his wife Kimberly had suffered a miscarriage. Titans keeps letting down the character of Jason Todd - most recently wasting what could have been a brilliantly meta tactic.
